I am a white 20-something woman in North Carolina, USA. I graduated from college with a BA in English Lit and Third-World/Non-Western History, and now I'm looking for a job (ha ha). I read a lot and write about what I read here and on my
LibraryThing account. I am particularly interested in learning about the world from a non-Western/American-centric perspective. Many of my journal entries reflect this interest.
Mostly, though, I write about books.
This journal is trying hard to be a safe space for people who are actively trying to overcome ableist, ageist, classist, colonial, heteronormative, racist, sexist, sizeist, and transphobic attitudes and practices, even though I am working on
all of those things myself. If anything in this list confuses you, the links in my profile under "blogs I read" can tell you more--none of them are really primers, but through them you can find basic information to help you learn. If anything in this list makes you angry, my journal is not for you.
If you'd like to be my friend, comment here and tell me a little about yourself. If I recognize you from one of the communities I read, I'm extra likely to add you. Comments on this post are screened.
